Women CEOs On Average Outperform Male-Led Companies

Out of the 500 constituents in the S&P 500 today, there are 31 companies led by women CEOs. Even though women leadership has been on the rise over the past few decades, when putting the number in context, women CEOs are still severely underrepresented and account for a mere 6.2% of S&P 500 companies.

Data shows that, on average, female-led companies outperform those run by men. While there are many ways to gauge the quality of leadership, we believe companies with women in the driver’s seat are more diverse and adept to changes. When women are given voices in the board room and become an integral part of the key decision-making process, they bring fresh perspectives that challenge the status quo. Gender equality is key to unlocking future productivity and innovations in the workplace.
